At the heart of it all is our sugar. It’s so commonplace that it’s easy to forget just how much knowledge, passion, and responsibility go into it. Sugar is taken for granted and indispensable, just like sustainable practices—in the fields, at the plant, and with customers.
In this report, we highlight the Sugar Group’s activities and progress in the areas of nutrition, the environment, climate, employees, and the supply chain.
Sustainability has always been part of our business practices. As a family-owned company with over 150 years of history, we think in terms of generations. Our goal is to combine economic success with environmental and social responsibility.
Among the most important milestones are the scientifically validated climate targets of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). By 2040, Pfeifer & Langen aims to reduce direct emissions from its own production to net zero. The company is striving for climate neutrality across the entire value chain by 2050.
In addition, the report highlights specific examples from the following areas:
“Taking responsibility: For us, this is both a goal and an obligation,” the report states.
The Sustainability Report provides transparency on the current status of our activities and, at the same time, outlines the next steps on the path to a sustainable future.
