Our beet sugar

Rough surface.
Sweet heart.

The sugar beet is so many things to us: A powerhouse, a bundle of energy, an all-rounder – a true miracle of nature! Does that sound a little over the top? Then read on!

Our beet sugar:
Pure nature

Truth be told, we don't actually produce our sugar ourselves. The sugar beet produces it for us! That's why we call them our powerhouses. Our job is to extract the sugar from the beet, and we do this with the most resource-saving methods possible. The result is beet sugar.

Our beet sugar is …

Zero waste:
All good!

Which parts of the beet do we use? All of them! The most valuable first: 18 percent of the beet is processed into sugar. But the beet contains even more resources: We use the water from the beets in our production processes, and everything else goes into animal feed, fertiliser or, in the future, providing energy. The sustainability of our production cycle

Unpackaged? Unquestionably!

We deliver more than half of our sugar to our customers in bulk, in silo and tankers. But because we can't always do without packaging, we use sustainable materials that are 100 percent recyclable. And our packaging can be even more sustainable: Since 2023, we have been using paper that contains 20 percent beet pulp – another way to recycle beet by-products.
