Innovation meets tradition: Our sugar factory in Appeldorn has been part of the Pfeifer & Langen team since 1976. We transform our regionally farmed beets into a wide range of products, from sustainable stockfeed from beet pulp to fine sugar for the beverage industry. But our Appeldorn factory produces more than just sugar – we put passion into every single grain.

In Appeldorn, sustainability has priority – and has done for years. With the completion of two 40,000 t silos in 2018, we raised a clear standard for efficiency and sustainability. But that was just one step on our path to becoming CO2 neutral. Our field-to-factory programme ensures fewer trips and optimises the routes taken. And with the modernisation of our refining area for fractionating sugar and the rebuild of the evaporation station, our production is future-ready – sustainable and ultramodern.
