In Könnern, we know sweet – and we know smart, too! Beets contain water, and we utilise this in our manufacturing process, allowing us to operate with no additional outside water at all. The sugar factory is already one of the most energy-efficient in Europe. But that is not enough for us. We are currently adapting our entire production to renewable energy sources. A biogas plant to make efficient use of the beet pulp is also being planned.

Our factory in Könnern employs around 230 men and women – and with flexibility and individual programmes, every one of them is able to grow professionally. We provide a fertile field for them to do that: an innovative working environment, exciting tasks, professional development opportunities, and plenty of freedom and personal responsibility. Our factory lives and breathes community – at work, in team events, on the volleyball court, or in our on-site fitness room.
