A sugar factory steeped in history – and with more future ahead. We’ve been producing sugar here for more than 145 years. A very long time indeed, and a period in which the same question has driven us every single day: How can we continuously improve and better meet our customers’ needs? Our answers are innovation and investment. Our manufacturing processes today run more quietly and with less odour. Another milestone: In 2021, we rebuilt our boiler house, cutting our CO₂ emissions in half. Our goal? From 2040, every grain of sugar we produce should be 100 % CO₂ neutral.

We have around 275 employees at our Jülich site, and most have been with us for a very long time! We are proud of this loyalty – because it shows just how positive and dedicated our team is. What makes working here so attractive? One factor is the annual alternation from the campaign to the repair phase, which brings with it many fascinating challenges. Another, no doubt, is our ongoing professional development. And most important of all: teamwork – a culture of mutual respect and a genuine sense of community.

We go all out for Jülich – and not only when it comes to sugar. Since 2019, we have been a proud partner to the local secondary school, providing their students with practical insight into working life, from student internships to preparing them for choosing a career path. Beyond that, we support the region through donations to non-profit associations, sports clubs, and the Jülich food bank. Fostering a strong sense of cooperation is important to us – for Jülich and the future.
