The Środa Sugar Factory was founded in 1880 and is the oldest sugar factory of Pfeifer & Langen Polska S.A. The plant has undergone extensive modernization in recent years, which has had a significant impact on the development of agriculture in Wielkopolska and the entire region.
With passion for sugar, in harmony with the environment
At the Środa Sugar Factory, we process an average of 12,000 metric tons of beets per day. Thanks to the modernization of the entire plant, it has become one of the most modern and environmentally friendly sugar plants in Europe. It is a place where you will find a modern packinghouse and a fully automated high-storage warehouse – the first of its kind in the sugar industry in Poland and one of the first in Europe.

Our production
In recent years, the capacity of our Sugar Plant has increased, even as we have reduced energy consumption. The projects carried out have allowed us to enrich our portfolio with a wide range of innovative sugar products under the Diamant brand – here our gelling sugars are made. Despite the fact that the sugar plant is one of the most modern, we are still developing – currently we are building a gas-fired power plant, which will allow us to completely phase out coal.

Our team is diverse – it consists of both experienced employees and ambitious young people. In this diversity lies the strength owing to which we can and we want to grow. Our commitment
The Środa Sugar Factory is a good neighbor. We feel like part of the local community, which is why we strive to build a better tomorrow together with local authorities and residents. Our Sugar Factory serves as a CHP plant, meeting 40% of the energy needs of the residents of Środa Wielkopolska. Here, we inaugurated the Open Door event at the Sugar Factory, during which the local community can see what the sugar factory looks like from the inside. As part of our grant program, we have helped implement interesting social initiatives, including support for a local library, an association supporting families, and a sailing academy.
